More than 810,000 veterans live in Ohio. Most of them feel proud of their service to our nation, but sometimes, the road home is dark and difficult. 130,000 Ohio veterans live in poverty; 140,000 have difficulty feeding their families; 120,000 struggle with service-related mental health issues. The Road Home is our program to increases awareness of the sacrifices men and women make in service to America and the struggles many of them face when they come home.
For nearly 20 years, Military Veterans Resource Center has helped struggling veterans regain their self-reliance and independence. Each year, we help thousands of veterans by providing assistance with employment, shelter and transportation. We provide thousands of meals to hungry veterans and their families, deliver school supplies to the children of veterans and offer, free, confidential mental health counseling services.
We do our best to ensure that veterans never have to face their struggles alone. But we can't do it alone. We need your help. Your tax-deductible donation will help us continue providing shelter to keep a veteran's family from becoming homeless, delivering nutritious food to their families or offering counseling to help them heal from the emotional injuries of war.
To see veterans stand with chin up and shoulders back, once again confident and in control of their lives makes the work we do worthwhile. Please join with us in helping veterans on their road home.
